AI Pump Prediction Guide

SepticMind's AI Pump Prediction engine uses Claude AI to analyze your customer data and predict when each septic tank will next need pumping.

How it works:

The AI analyzes multiple factors for each customer:

  • Tank size and household occupancy
  • Historical pumping records and intervals
  • System type (conventional, aerobic, mound, etc.)
  • Soil conditions and seasonal patterns
  • Water usage indicators (garbage disposal, water softener)

  • Understanding predictions:

  • Confidence score: Higher confidence means more data points were available. Scores above 85% are highly reliable.
  • Urgency levels: Overdue (past predicted date), Urgent (within 30 days), Upcoming (31-90 days), On Track (90+ days)
  • AI reasoning: Each prediction includes an explanation of the factors that influenced the result

  • Using predictions effectively:

  • Focus on Overdue customers first — send service reminders immediately
  • Schedule Urgent customers into your next available route
  • Use Upcoming predictions to plan future weeks and fill route gaps
  • Review On Track customers quarterly to verify predictions match reality

  • Sending reminders:

Click "Send Reminder" on any prediction card to email the customer a branded service reminder. Use "Send Batch Reminders" to contact all overdue customers at once.

    Improving accuracy:

Record every service in SepticMind. The more pumping history the AI has, the better its predictions become. After 3+ data points per customer, confidence scores typically exceed 90%.
